Bałuty – a village with a population of 100,000 that got connected to Łódź, densely filled with streets and buildings, for many years with no electricity or sewage system – was dubbed the “bad neighbourhood” and became the infamous protagonist of newspaper headlines, as it was mentioned a lot whenever another horrible crime was committed there. During the walk, we will discover the history of this one-of-a-kind district and see Bałuty as remembered by the people of Łódź.
